At Mystery Craters in South Kolan, approximately 25 minutes from Bundaberg, the Earth Room is a welcoming sensory experience our family created to celebrate the beauty and wonder of our planet.
When we took over Mystery Craters in 2023, we inherited a remarkable collection of rocks, minerals, crystals and fossils that had passed through the property’s previous custodians. Many pieces were in dusty cabinets or boxes. As we cleaned, polished and rediscovered them, we realised these treasures deserved to be shared and appreciated again.
That rediscovery inspired the Earth Room. Rearrange the letters of EARTH and you find HEART — a simple connection that reflects our hope to create a space where visitors can slow down and reconnect with the natural world.
Explore illuminated geological displays, gentle music inspired by chakra traditions, flowing water, natural aromas and greenery. Learn about minerals and their uses, or spend time in our reflective space with books, affirmation cards, writing and drawing activities.
Children can discover colours, textures and natural wonders, while visitors of all ages are welcome to simply enjoy the peaceful atmosphere. You do not need to hold any particular beliefs to appreciate the experience.
